Hi my friends. It's good to see you.
Before start writing I want to say that I'm with the people of Japan. I'm really concerned about what happened there and I feel really sorry for the families that lost a relative.
Yesterday in a conversation with my family an interesting topic came up. My aunt was talking about a book she read the name of the book is "what if your other half instead of an orange is a grapefruit" (Que tal si tu media naranja es toronja). In that book the author explains how the men's and women's brains work, and what is interesting for men and women. Then my dad said that the human beings only use the 10% of their brain. And well in order to improve the capacities of the brain is required to do different things that we don't usually do in a normal day because in a day we do repetitive tasks. For example: We can blindfold ourselves and walk carefully in a room and experience new sentations, we can play a musical instrument like drums, the keyboard, guitar, etc. , we can learn new languages like chinese or japanese where we have to remember the strokes' order and the meaning of the characteres, we can write with our left hand if we're right-handed or vice versa. These are some of the examples we can do to develop our brain.
What do you think?

Hmm, interesting topic Luodelige, I've read about this before, not only regarding the intellectual part that still remains to us to develop, but also the powers of the mind!!! ;)

Viewers of the movie 2012, it told that before the end of the world, the world was going through deep changes in climate, and including on the axis of the earth, is not a prognosis? :( :O
ReplyDeletev pink!
I've heard a legend that said when we were created we had powers but the Gods took us our abilities and they created men and women and the languages so we couldn't communicate each others. So that's why we lack telepathy and other kind of powers.
ReplyDeleteV pink your comments are really interesting. Thanks for visiting my blog :)
Hi!
ReplyDeleteAbout this using 10% of the brain thing; I think this is something that gets repeated so often, we assume that it's true without checking if there is any proof to support it. The only real medical evidence I've heard of says that we do use all of our brain, but we can only use some parts of it subconsciously. However, I.M.O this isn't a bad thing; what good would it do if we had to consciously control our heartbeat or breathing for example? That's not to say that we can't develop the power of our mind - of course we can - but also you have be aware of popular claims that don't have any real basis.
Anyway, nice post! :-)

Hello everyone,
ReplyDeletewhat an interesting thought that men´s and women´s brains function differently. There is for sure some truth about it.
I believe most people would be eager to try and have a new experience with something, e.g. an activity they usually not do. It could be done for the experience, the sake of learning something new and to get out of our rut. It won´t be much worth without talking about it afterwards...reflection upon something that has been done is as important as doing it. Most people´s life is busy and hectic and so most tend to forget about the latter. So, let´s get down to business and start trying. Do you already have any idea what exactly you would like to experience???
The Brain—is wider than the Sky
ReplyDeleteby Emily Dickinson
The Brain—is wider than the Sky—
For—put them side by side—
The one the other will contain
With ease—and You—beside—
The Brain is deeper than the sea—
For—hold them—Blue to Blue—
The one the other will absorb—
As Sponges—Buckets—do—
The Brain is just the weight of God—
For—Heft them—Pound for Pound—
And they will differ—if they do—
As Syllable from Sound—
There is a foolish corner in the brain of the wisest man.

Humor is by far the most significant activity of the human brain.

Experience is food for the brain.

A man’s brain has a more difficult time shifting from thinking to feeling than a women’s brain does.:-))

I like the quote "Humor is by far the most significant activity of the human brain". Actually I feel better when someone has a good sense of humour to break the ice or when there's a big problem to solve. Let's laugh!
ReplyDeleteThe brain is wider than the sky has something of truth. I think the power of the brain is amazing. I guess we have some information within us in the brain, so let's find out the way to recover all that knowledge.
I'd like to experience playing the piano, do juggling and learning more languages.
